What is a Hack-a-Thon?

A Hack-a-thon, contrary to what it might seem, is simply a term used to build an application/website over a period of time. It should not be confused with the illegal activity of hacking.


Who can attend?

Anyone entering 6th grade in the fall of 2017 and above are welcome to participate in this event! Adults are also welcome. For students in 6th - 8th grade, we require that a parent/guardian are present.


When and where is this Hack-A-Thon?

Our Hack-A-Thon is on July 29th, Saturday, from 9am to 5pm. It is located at the Simi Valley Senior Center, 3900 Avenida Simi, Simi Valley, CA 93063.


What should I bring?

Just bring a laptop and lots of creative ideas!


Do I need any prior experience or knowledge?

Nope! We have mentors and workshops in the morning to teach you what you need to know! If you do have prior knowledge, awesome! You can help out those in your team who might not have that prior experience.


Do I need to make a team before?

We will be dividing up the participants on the day of into teams of 4-5.
